What to Expect on Your First Visit

Our friendly front office staff will assist you in registering with our office and navigating you through the insurance process for outpatient physical therapy treatments. We also have measures in place to ensure for a safe and healthy rehabilitation environment.

The following protocols are now in place:

  • Patient screening: All patients will be screened upon arrival of their appointment time to make sure they are not exhibiting symptoms. Upon arrival, we ask that you call our office 559-261-4100 (Fresno) and 559-897-5270 (Kingsburg) to inform us that you have arrived. We ask that If a patient is presenting with COVID-19 symptoms, they will be advised to return home and contact their physician.
  • Staff screening: All employees will be screened for COVID-19 daily. Those presenting any level of symptoms will return home and follow up with their physician before returning to work.
  • Health hygiene protocols: Ongoing reinforcement to all staff and patients regarding hand washing and other preventative measures for equipment and supplies are in place and being reinforced.
  • Required use of face masks or face coverings: Wearing a face covering reinforces physical distancing while in the clinic. Please see refer to the California Department of Public Health for additional guidance regarding the use of face coverings.

Your physical therapist will meet with you to conduct a formal and comprehensive initial evaluation. During the evaluation your therapist will ask questions about your medical history, current pain, or injury. Open communication helps us understand your problem.

Your movement, strength, coordination, flexibility along with additional measures will be evaluated to assist your therapist in providing the optimal treatment plan to restore your function and enhance your quality of life.

There may be a trial of treatments performed on the first day in order to jump start your road to recovery. Your therapist will write a formal report of the findings and treatment plan to submit to your referring physician.
